Week 12 - June 19-20

Another good week in the flower garden!  Not much needed to be done, just a few weeds to pull here and there.  Everything is looking great.  Lots of buds, teasing of flowers and color to come . . . lilies, hostas, daylilies, cone flowers, daisies and lots of other fun things!  Although there isn't a lot of color in the gardens this week, there will be lots to come soon!

Week 11 - June 12-13 - Vegetable garden

Aside from a million little weeds, the garden is doing quite well.  Everything except the basil and parsley are up and seem to be thriving.

The tomato and pepper plants that Margaret started for me were planted mid week.  The peppers are small but seem to be doing well.  The tomatoes, not so much.  So far, I have only officially lost one, but there are a couple that are looking pretty feeble.  I have my fingers crossed that they spring back.  I did plant (and have a few more to plant) some store bought tomato plants just incase the others don't make it.

It doesn't really look like much from the picture, but in real life there are lots of rows of teeny tiny veggies plants!  Just like this:

Lots of little cucumbers!

The herb garden is doing really well!  Although I still have a huge amount of oregano and try desperately to give a plant to anyone I know who has somewhere that they could plant it!  The scarlet runner beans across the back are just starting to come up.  Putting up the netting for them to climb is on my list of things to do this week!

Week 11 - June 12-23

My flower beds are looking great!  I love my flowers!  Everything is doing well, evening primrose is in bloom through out all the beds, sweet william has been blooming for a little while, hardy geranium is covered in blooms and yesterday my first lily of the year was open!  There are lots of things with buds to open in coming weeks.

There haven't even been too many weeds.  Or maybe I am just keeping ahead of them better than usual.  Either way, I am happy!  I added a couple new things this week .  .  . a new Hen and Chicken and a galardia.  I have another new plant, I can't remember what it is called, but it has cool purple spiky flowers.  I haven't planted it yet as it is fairly large and I have to find a good spot, but hubby picked it out.  Watch for it in next week's photos.
